Whether performing dental surgery, responding with emergency intervention, or providing a wide range of general surgical and medical procedures, Dr. DeForge delivers exceptional outcomes and also continues to innovate by employing best practices and the latest research.

His facility is outfitted with some of the most sophisticated technology available and is worthy of the "veterinary hospital" designation as opposed to simply being a vet's office. Likewise, he never hesitates to make referrals or bring in specialists when the case requires outside consultation.

Dr. DeForge has also written and published widely in addition to hosting a popular radio show. His work in this area is a public service and also a reflection of his ongoing commitment to continuing education, prevention and advocacy for animals.

My wife and I have placed our animals in Dr. DeForge's care for more than 30 years. We are constantly in awe of his abilities, his dedication, his commitment to his own ongoing professional education-- and perhaps more importantly, his results in restoring health, prolonging life and relieving suffering in the creatures we have brought to him.

All of the above are reasons to recommend Silver Sands Veterinary Center, but they are also informed and held together by a strong sense of compassion. I mention Dr. Forge's compassion last because if it were not tied to great results, it might not matter. However, when you combine his deep compassion with his outstanding ability to relieve suffering, you truly get an exceptional veterinary experience for your pet and your family.

His insistence on compassion and kindness are clearly evidenced in his staff who are always caring and considerate in addition to being knowledgeable and professional. They always do everything they can to inform and support caregivers.

Few probably know of the good work he does in the community, the level of uncompensated care he provides and his many kindnesses to patients and families over the years --but all should know that this is an extraordinary veterinary practice that elevates the level of care available in the region.

Silver Sands Veterinary Center is a superb veterinary hospital. Dr. DeForge and his experienced staff have been a Godsend for me and my pets.

Thorough and qualitative examinations with informative discussions throughout are the norm. Any fear exhibited by the pet or the owner is assuaged by Dr. DeForge's gentle touch and his soft-spoken words. His bedside manner is truly unusual in this era of hurry up and be gone. He is exceptional in that he takes his time with every question or nuance that you may have. His humor is truly infectious, along with his expertise, helping to put you at ease quickly.

Dr. DeForge's consciousness of any pain that the pet is experiencing is addressed quickly and with patience to alleviate this occurrence.

Upon conclusion of the examination, Dr. DeForge's diagnosis, treatment and ultimate prognosis is explained in detail. A folder is given to you containing all of the pertinent facts and conditions of your visit. A capable assistant at this point goes through everything yet again, so your understanding of the examination is very clear. Medications are given, if needed, with complete written and verbal instructions.

Follow-up is exceptional. You receive phone calls from the office inquiring about the health of your pet each day after the examination.

Therefore, my experiences with Dr. DeForge and his wonderful staff have been exemplary. They are truly professional, highly capable, compassionate, and what can I say………….JUST ABOUT PERFECT!!!!
